FLU VACCINATIONS

We now have our flu vaccinations in stock. At present we are able to offer appointments to all patients over 65 years old, and patients who fit the NHS high risk categories. Please contact reception to see if you are eligible.

URGENT NOTIFICATION

UNFORTUNATELY THERE IS A NATIONAL PROBLEM WITH THE CHEMICALS USED BY LABORATORIES WHEN TESTING BLOOD SAMPLES.

SO, WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT, WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED TO PAUSE ROUTINE TESTING OF BLOOD SAMPLES.  WE DO NOT KNOW WHEN A NORMAL SERVICE WILL RESUME.

REGRETTABLY WE WILL HAVE TO CONTACT MANY PATIENTS TO CANCEL THEIR BLOOD TEST APPOINTMENTS.  WE RECOGNISE THIS WILL CAUSE FRUSTRATION AND ANXIETY AND APOLOGISE FOR THIS BUT THIS SITUATION IS COMPLETELY OUTSIDE THE PRACTICE'S CONTROL.

THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IS LOOKING INTO THIS AND WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ONCE WE HAVE MORE INFORMATION.

PATIENTS WHO REQUIRE URGENT BLOOD TESTS WILL BE PRIORITISED BY THE CLINICAL TEAM.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AT THIS TIME.

Zero Tolerance

We operate a Zero Tolerance Policy with regard to abuse or violence towards our staff. We reserve the right to remove abusive or violent patients from the Practice List.

As of August 2018 we are now once again able to offer ear syringing as a service. Ear syringing appointments are arranged by the nurses after an initial ear checking appointment.

The alternative treatment of using Sodium Bicarbonate Ear Drops twice daily for at least 2 weeks is still the suggested 1st line treatment for impacted wax.

If after treating your ears with Sodium Bicarbonate for 2 weeks you still experience problems we will happily review your ears and proceed to arrange ear syringing treatment if necessary.
