FLU VACCINATIONS

We now have our flu vaccinations in stock. At present we are able to offer appointments to all patients over 65 years old, and patients who fit the NHS high risk categories. Please contact reception to see if you are eligible.

URGENT NOTIFICATION

UNFORTUNATELY THERE IS A NATIONAL PROBLEM WITH THE CHEMICALS USED BY LABORATORIES WHEN TESTING BLOOD SAMPLES.

SO, WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT, WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED TO PAUSE ROUTINE TESTING OF BLOOD SAMPLES.  WE DO NOT KNOW WHEN A NORMAL SERVICE WILL RESUME.

REGRETTABLY WE WILL HAVE TO CONTACT MANY PATIENTS TO CANCEL THEIR BLOOD TEST APPOINTMENTS.  WE RECOGNISE THIS WILL CAUSE FRUSTRATION AND ANXIETY AND APOLOGISE FOR THIS BUT THIS SITUATION IS COMPLETELY OUTSIDE THE PRACTICE'S CONTROL.

THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IS LOOKING INTO THIS AND WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ONCE WE HAVE MORE INFORMATION.

PATIENTS WHO REQUIRE URGENT BLOOD TESTS WILL BE PRIORITISED BY THE CLINICAL TEAM.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AT THIS TIME.

Zero Tolerance

We operate a Zero Tolerance Policy with regard to abuse or violence towards our staff. We reserve the right to remove abusive or violent patients from the Practice List.

Home Visits

Please only ask the doctor to call if the patient is too ill to attend either surgery. If you are in doubt, you may discuss the matter with one of the doctors on the telephone. Please try to phone before 11am.

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Surgery.
